Margaret J. Swinker, O.D. & Associates was originally opened in 1951 by Robert Swinker, O.D. in Brownsville, PA. Robert Swinker, O.D. graduated from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1951 and opened his practice the same year. His goal of providing excellent care with optometrist services for Fayette County, PA continues to this day.
It became a family practice when his daughter, Margaret J. Swinker, O.D., graduated with honors from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1981. Currently, Margaret J Swinker, O.D. brings over 35 years of diverse experience to the Brownsville, PA practice. Her specialty is optometry and she maintains an expert level of patient care and service.
Our staff of highly trained doctors of optometry also includes Monica L. Rechichar, O.D., who graduated from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2003 and joined the Brownsville office in 2011.
Tayler M. Strauch O.D., daughter of Dr. Swinker, graduated from Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2018 and joined the practice in Fall 2018 making it a third generation optometric practice with over 70 years.
Kent C. Strauch, son of Dr. Swinker, joined the practice in 2017 as a certified optician.
